Search for the Nile

Aviation Photo

Dennis Johnson lives in Washington, D.C. where he shoots travel photos for magazines, travel guide books, ad agencies and corporations. His interests include flying sailplanes and powered aircraft, hiking, and traveling for work and pleasure.

In 1994, Dennis and a group of intrepid hikers retraced Henry M. Stanley's ("Dr. Livingstone, I presume?") 1874-77 search for the source of the Nile and Congo rivers. They hiked across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda to the Zaire border where they were forced to end the trek due to the erupting civil war in neighboring Rwanda. Dennis is available for assignments worldwide, and offers particular experience in East Africa, India and Asia.
