Dennis Johnson is a
photographer, journalist and avid soaring pilot.
Based in New York City he shoots travel
images for magazines, corporations and photo
agencies.
In 1994, Dennis and a group of intrepid hikers
retraced Henry M. Stanley's ("Dr. Livingstone, I
presume?") 1874-77 search for the source of
the Nile and Congo rivers. They hiked across
Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda to the Zaire
border where they were forced to halt the trek
due to the erupting civil war in neighboring
Rwanda.
In 2004 Dennis covered the Iraqi war from
Baghdad and Balad for a German-based
American newspaper.
Currently he shoots primarily travel images for
stock photo agencies.
